Croft Visiting Speaker: Japan in the 21st Century: Expanding Global Peace and Prosperity

Thursday, November 6, 2014 - 7 p.m. - The Joseph C. Bancroft Conference Room (Croft 107)  Motohiko Kato - Consul General of Japan in Nashville

The Croft Institute is very honored to welcome the Consul-General of Japan in Nashville, Motohiko Kato, as the second speaker in our 2014 - 2015 Visiting Speaker Series.  Consul-General Kato will speak on US-Japanese relations.  Consul-General Kato will also touch on the relationship between Japan and Mississippi.

Consul-General Kato most recently served as Deputy Chief of Mission of the Japanese Embassy in the Philippines.  He boasts a three-decade career in the foreign service and he has served in numerous capacities around the world, including posts in Singapore, Iran, and France.

The Consulate-General of Japan at Nashville covers Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi.  Consul-General Kato's primary mission is to care for Japanese citizens and their families residing in the Southeast, protect the interests of Japanese companies, and promote Japanese culture and business throughout these five states.
