Jeff Wachtel, the executive director of the new Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program, will be on campus to meet with interested students at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, in Honors College Room 331.  The Knight-Hennessy Scholars is a new graduate-level scholarship program at Stanford University.  The program is looking for high-achieving students from around the world with demonstrated leadership and civic commitment to receive full funding to pursue a wide-ranging graduate education at Stanford, with the goal of developing a new generation of global leaders. Each Knight-Hennessy Scholar will receive full financial support to pursue a degree in any of the  approximately 125 graduate programs at Stanford - from PhD's in  education, engineering, humanities, and the sciences to professional degrees like the JD, MBA, MD, or MFA.  They will begin to accept applications in the late spring of 2017 and will welcome their first cohort of 50 (up to 100 in subsequent years) of Knight-Hennessy Scholars in fall 2018.  Students who will have received their bachelor's degrees in 2013 or later are eligible to apply for the first class.  Mr. Wachtel is especially interested in meeting with younger students and talking about ways they can take advantage of opportunities to prepare to be future leaders.
