Current High School Seniors
As a competitive academic program, all students must apply to both the Croft Institute for International Studies and the University of Mississippi.
For questions, please call the Croft Institute for Intentional Studies, at 662-915-1500 or by e-mail at croft@olemiss.edu.
Preparing a Croft Application
As a part of the Competitive Academic Programs Application, all students must request three letters of recommendation (one from a teacher, one from a counselor or school administrator, and a third from a second teacher, supervisor, or mentor) and respond to the following essay prompt: Please explain why you want to major in international studies. As part of your answer, address why you chose the language and the region of the world indicated in your application. (Your answer should be between 300 and 500 words).
Other Competitive Programs
Students wishing to study Chinese or Arabic at the Croft Institute are strongly encouraged to apply to the Flagship programs through the same Competitive Academic Programs Application linked above. Students can also use this portal to apply to other popular competitive programs such as the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College or the Public Policy and Leadership Degree through the Trent Lott Leadership Institute.
