This is Noell Wilson. As you may have heard, in July of this year, I was named Executive Director of the Croft Institute after serving as Chair of the History Department here at the University of Mississippi. A long-time student of Asia and historian of Japan, I am thrilled to strengthen even further Croft’s profile as the premier International Studies programs in the US South. Part of this vision includes reinvigorating the involvement of our Alumni in Croft’s future.
To jump start our Alumni engagement initiative, we will host a Croft Homecoming Weekend on November 7th and 8th. I hope I can convince you to join. This event will provide an opportunity for Croft alumni, faculty and staff, and current students to come together, exchange experiences and ideas, and perhaps share a beer or two.
We’ll kick off the weekend on Friday, November 7th with a midday meet & greet. I invite you all to stop by for a chat and share your reflections on Croft life as well as your dreams for the Institute’s future. The afternoon will continue with an Alumni Panel, giving current students an opportunity to hear from you all about your career paths. If you’d like to volunteer to participate in this panel, please note your interest in the RSVP form below!
Friday evening, it’s trivia time. Join us at Booth’s Barbecue and Yard for dinner and trivia hosted by the Croft Student Senate. And on Saturday, we’ll host a tailgate on the porch before we head over to watch the Rebs take on The Citadel Bulldogs at noon.
We envision this weekend as the first in a series of events this year to get to know you all.
If you are able to join us in November, please RSVP or express your interest.
Best wishes for your Fall, and see you soon,
