Journalism Organization Syria Direct Seeks Program Manager

Syria Direct, a non-profit journalism organization that produces timely coverage of Syria, is seeking a Project Manager to oversee grant writing, donor relations, and newsroom operations in its bureau in Amman, Jordan.

This is a great opportunity for Croft graduates with high proficiency in Arabic who are interested in working in the Middle East.

The Program Manager is tasked with identifying and applying for potential grants, managing all pre- and post-project reporting, corresponding directly with ongoing and prospective donors, and exploring potential avenues for new partnerships.

The Program Manager will also contribute, as needed, to the management and execution of project activities, in collaboration with the Managing Director. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, supervising project staff, reviewing and editing original content, and translating Arabic-language material into English.

Candidates should have professional proficiency in Arabic and a minimum of two years of experience working in either program or grants management. An in-depth understanding of the Syrian conflict is preferred.

To apply: send an email with a one-page resume, a short cover letter, and a writing sample, with the subject “Program Manager” to Syria Direct’s Managing Director at mjustin@syriadirect.org.
